The History of Weekly Bible Verses

When I decided I needed to create this website I asked the brother who gives us each our weekly memory verse to give me the history of verses so that I could get them all on the list because I had missed a few of the meetings.

Well, he mistook my request for a history of verses and instead gave me a ‘history of verses’.  I loved the response so much that I felt like we should incorporate it into our main page so everyone can see.

Here is the text message I received this morning from my brother:

“Well here goes! Not sure, maybe 6 or 7 years ago we were meeting in the gym on Saturday mornings with Pastor Lin.  He was in charge of the men’s ministry.  A brother came to him and suggested that we memorize a verse each week.  Pastor Lin agreed, but to the brother’s surprise he put him in charge.

Because of that I personally learned many verses. For some reason I do not recall we didn’t continue. A few months ago I became convicted to start memorizing verses again and the idea came to me (hopefully from the Holy Spirit) to bring the idea to Axel.

He loved the idea and memory verses began again. Hide the Word of God in your heart so you may not sin against Him.  Psalm 119:11.  God Bless” ~John Terry.
